Day 1 & 2
Livingstone (Victoria Falls) – Zambia
Upon arrival in Livingstone you
are met by Somak’s representative and transfer you to your luxury
accommodation at Sussi Lodge is situated on the northern edge of the Mosi Oa
Tunya Park, where luxurious tree houses hide discreetly amongst giant ebony
trees on a sweeping bend of the Zambezi River. Named after David
Livingstone’s faithful friends, the accommodation consists of an exclusive,
upmarket lodge which takes full advantage of its enchanting river-bank
setting. Accommodation consists of 10 luxury tree-houses, built into
the living canopy of giant ebony trees lining the bank. Each unit has a
private view of the Zambezi from its own deck among the branches. The main
lodge building features a spectacular raised bar/lounge deck, open air
dining area, swimming pool and lawns sweeping down to the water’s edge. All
tree-houses have en-suite toilet, basin, shower & bath, private viewing
deck, mini bar, mosquito nets, overhead fans, tea & coffee making
facilities, hair dryer. A wide choice of activities adds to the attractions
of this elegant, secluded retreat.
The following activities are
included with your accommodation: a guided tour of Victoria Falls and rain
forest on the Zambian Side, game drive in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park
where Zambia's only white rhino can be spotted, a Cultural Tour of
Livingstone including a visit to the Museum and The Maramba Village, a
shopping Tour in Livingstone Town, early morning or sunset river cruise on
our 12 seater boat, fishing in the Zambezi River. You have a choice of 2
activities per day. Other optional activities can
be booked at an extra cost include: White water rafting, canoeing,
sunset cruises, helicopter and micro light adventures, horseback safaris,

Sussi Lodge
Day 3 & 4
Lochinvar National Park
Depart by private charter
flight to the World Heritage Wetlands Site of Lochinvar National Park. Here
you will explore the vast wetlands noted for the herds of lechwe, buffalo,
zebra, wildebeest and oribi that graze the shoreline and surrounding plains.
A real draw card however, is the prolific birdlife with over 428 recorded
species. The sight of huge flocks of birds dipping and swooping over the
water is not to be missed. Your accommodation is at Lechwe Plains tented
camp. The exotic and beautiful Lechwe Plains Tented Camp is an African
fantasy under canvas. The tented lodge, built onto teak decking, shelters
under a mature grove of acacia trees on the edge of the wide Chunga Lagoon.
Just 6 double units cater for a maximum of 12 guests at any one time, making
this a tranquil hideaway far from the main safari circuits. Each tent has
en-suite toilet, basin, shower & bath, mosquito nets, hair dryer, private
viewing deck.
The close-up experience of
living in the same environment as the wildlife offers a new perspective to
the visitor. Guests will have the undivided attention of the hosts and
staff, including a competent ornithologist and guide. Your individual tent
has all the comforts & privacy you need.
Spend two days exploring
the floodplains and surrounds. This park is an all year round bird watcher’s
paradise with over 400 species recorded, water activities include excursions
in dug-out canoes, game viewing drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles, guided
walks, cultural visits to nearby traditional fishing villages. Other spots
of interest are the Gwisho Hot springs and Sebanzi Hill, site of Stone Age
habitation and a later Iron Age village. (BLD)
Lechwe Plains tented Camp
Day 5 – 7
South Luangwa National Park
Again depart by private charter
for the flight to Mfuwe. The travel by road approximately the 1 hour to your
lodge. South Luangwa is known as one of the greatest wild life sanctuaries
of the World, not surprising due the concentrations of game around the
Luangwa River. In addition the topography of the area make it ideal for
walking safaris allowing guests to explore the river and it’s tributaries in
the care of an experienced guide. The Park is also noted for the big game
species, particularly, leopard, lion, elephant and a host of antelope. Spend
3 days in the park gameviewing in open four-wheel-drive vehicles driven by a
knowledgeable guide and also guided walks by a professional guide and an
armed national parks scout are offered.
Your accommodation is at Puku
Ridge Tented Camp- small and intimate, built unobtrusively close to the
wild. Each of the 6 spacious walk-in canvas safari tents with a wrap around
view of the flood plains below is comfortably furnished with has its own
lavish bathroom which provides the option of taking a shower with the sun on
your shoulders Each tent contains private bathroom facilities. Well-lit
pathways cleared of undergrowth connect the tents to the main bar/lounge.
The natural vegetation has been left as undisturbed as possible. All tents
have en-suite bathroom, basin, indoor and outdoor showers and sunken bath,
mosquito nets, private verandah, ceiling fans and hair dryers. (BLD)

Day 8 South Luangwa –
Lusaka
Transfer back to Mfuwe for the
flight to Lusaka where the excursion ends on arrival.
