Accommodation

|

Serena Mountain Village |
The only ‘tree hotel’ ever to be
built on the slopes of Kenya’s
legendary Mount Kenya, Mountain
Lodge offers a matchless game
viewing opportunity whilst
combining a glorious panorama of
mountain vistas with the
primordial splendors of an
ancient rainforest. Floating
2,195 m high on the flanks of
Kenya’s highest mountain and
secreted deep within her largest
forest reserve, the lodge offers
not only the champagne-clarity
of mountain air, the tranquility
of the forest and a colorful
cavalcade of wildlife but also
the chance of scaling the icy
peaks of Africa’s second-highest
mountain. |

|
Ngorongoro Serena Lodge |
Often described
as the ‘Eighth’ Wonder of the
World, the Ngorongoro crater is
so spectacular that it touches
all the senses.
The Ngorongoro Serena Safari
Lodge is built onto the rim of
this amazing natural phenomenon,
a stunning plant and local
creeper covered stone lodge
where guests co-exist in perfect
harmony with the surrounding
natural environment and
wildlife. Ngorongoro Serena
Safari Lodge, close to some of
the earliest dwellings of man in
Olduvai Gorge, has taken their
cave paintings as inspiration.
It is built of stones and
boulders and is literally hidden
in the vegetation of the
crater’s rim, disappearing
completely from view from the
crater’s floor. |

|
|

Lake Manyara Serena
|
Standing high on the bluff of a
dramatic ochre and terracotta
streaked cliff above the
flamingo-frosted expanse of Lake
Manyara’s gleaming alkaline
waters, the Lodge commands
panoramic views across the
volcano-studded floor of the
Great Rift Valley.
Designed to reflect the
brilliance of Lake Manyara’s
unique birdlife, the Lodge draws
on an inspirational
architectural motif that melds
swooping avian curves with the
gentle concentric patterns of
traditional Maasai ‘Bomas’
(encampments) whilst the
vibrantly coloured frescoes
lining the walls are designed to
depict the colourful intricacy
of bird migratory patterns.
The ambiance of the Lodge is a
fusion of lakeside tranquillity,
towering volcanic splendour and
adventure-packed sporting
activity.

 |
Set high on a
hill with 360 degree views out
over the Serengeti savannah, the
Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge
combines luxury with simplicity
and is Africa at its very best.
Inspired by the traditional
African village, the lodge is
rich in local atmosphere and the
bedrooms are housed in
individual thatched huts. These
huts are furnished with
authentic African furniture and
handicrafts, with balconies
overlooking the awesome expanse
of the Serengeti. Communal areas
of the lodge are created out of
thatch and indigenous wood and
give guests a true ‘out of
Africa’ experience. Great
attention has been paid to both
architectural and decorative
detailing and the lodge is a
photographer’s joy. |

Ol TukaiLodge |
Ol Tukai Lodge is one of the
best spots in the world to watch
elephant with the backdrop of
Africa’s highest mountain, Mount
Kilimanjaro. Writers have
described Ol Tukai and the
surrounding Amboseli National
Park ‘as a home for the Gods’. A
place of rugged beauty, abundant
water, lush grass and forest,
set like an oasis in surrounding
savannah scrub. To crown it all,
the Gods look upon one of the
worlds most awe-inspiring sites
– as dawn breaks and the sun
sets from the 19,000 foot snow
capped dome of Africa’s highest
mountain.
