Gorillas in Bwindi - 5 Days

This safari starts with a drive to Lake Mburo. The highlights of the day is a canoe ride on the lake and a game drive. The adventure continues to the primeval forest of Bwindi which has four Gorilla families.

Itinerary

Day 1: Thursday Arrive Kampala
Arrive At Entebbe Airport, met on arrival and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Sheraton Hotel

Day 2: Friday Lake Mburo
After breakfast and safari briefing, drive to Lake Mburo. Arrive in time for lunch. In the afternoon enjoy a canoes trip on the lake and a game drive. Overnight at Ndali/Mantana Kibale (BLD).

Day 3: Saturday Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Depart for Buhoma in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest arriving in the afternoon. You may opt for a nature walk in the forest or relax at the lodge. Overnight at Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge (BLD).

Day 4: Sunday Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Tracking in Bwindi requires stamina and can often take most of the day. You will walk up steep densely forested hills tracking through thick and humid forest you almost have to cut your way through the undergrowth but finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation is an inspiring moment. You have one hour with the gorillas before returning to the camp. Overnight at Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge (BLD).

Day 5: Saturday Depart
After breakfast return to Kampala, retracing your steps through this green and pleasant land. Arrive. Arrive Kampala late afternoon and transfer to the airport for flight home or extend your stay to the wildlife game parks of Kenya and Tanzania (BL).

Mantana Kibale	Mantana - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Tented Camp is situated on the periphery of the Impenetrable Forest approximately 4kms from the National Park Mantana - Kibale Forest Tented Camp is 2kms past the Kanyanchu National Park office before Bigodi Village Mantana - Lake Mburo Tented Camp is situated in Lake Mburo National Park. An excellent accommodation place for gorilla tracking safaris.


Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge	Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge overlooks the primeval Bwindi Forest with monkeys, gorillas, chimpanzees and birds screeching near the stream below.
