The only ‘tree hotel’ ever to be
built on the slopes of Kenya’s
legendary Mount Kenya, Mountain
Lodge offers a matchless game
viewing opportunity whilst
combining a glorious panorama of
mountain vistas with the
primordial splendours of an
ancient rainforest. Floating
2,195 m high on the flanks of
Kenya’s highest mountain and
secreted deep within her largest
forest reserve, the lodge offers
not only the champagne-clarity
of mountain air, the tranquility
of the forest and a colourful
cavalcade of wildlife but also
the chance of scaling the icy
peaks of Africa’s second-highest
mountain. |

Lake Manyara
Serena Safari Lodge is perched
on the edge of the Mto Wa Mbu
escarpment with one of the
greatest views over the Great
Rift Valley and its soda lake.
It is difficult to imagine a
more spectacular setting.
The lake is renowned among
ornithologists for its birds of
prey and the famous
tree-climbing lions that inhabit
the woodland that nestles
between the lake and the Rift
Valley.s
The lodge glows with
tranquillity and peace. The
design was inspired by the
area’s abundant bird life. |

Often described
as the ‘Eighth’ Wonder of the
World, the Ngorongoro crater is
so spectacular that it touches
all the senses. A volcanic
crater of over 259 square
kilometres with surrounding
walls rising 609 metres above
it, the crater is a natural
sanctuary for over 25,000
animals, including the black
rhino. It is also a conservation
area inhabited by the Masai
tribe.
The Ngorongoro Serena Safari
Lodge is built onto the rim of
this amazing natural phenomenon,
a stunning plant and local
creeper covered stone lodge
where guests co-exist in perfect
harmony with the surrounding
natural environment and
wildlife. Ngorongoro Serena
Safari Lodge, close to some of
the earliest dwellings of man in
Olduvai Gorge, has taken their
cave paintings as inspiration. |

Set high on a
hill with 360 degree views out
over the Serengeti savannah, the
Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge
combines luxury with simplicity
and is Africa at its very best.
Inspired by the traditional
African village, the lodge is
rich in local atmosphere and the
bedrooms are housed in
individual thatched huts. These
huts are furnished with
authentic African furniture and
handicrafts, with balconies
overlooking the awesome expanse
of the Serengeti. Communal areas
of the lodge are created out of
thatch and indigenous wood and
give guests a true ‘out of
Africa’ experience. Great
attention has been paid to both
architectural and decorative
detailing and the lodge is a
photographer’s joy. |

bush-cloaked ridge, commanding
panoramic views over the
endlessly rolling reaches and
volcanic reefs of the Serengeti
National Park, Kirawira Camp is
the epitome of colonially-styled
safari luxury. Designed in
typically Edwardian style, it
features an elegant central
meeting tent evocatively
furnished with a tasteful
selection of chintz-covered
chaises longues, jewel-hued
Persian rugs, antique
escritoires, wind-up phonograms,
leather-bound travelling cases,
brass shooting sticks, carved
rocking chairs, and stud-backed
smoking chairs |
