Accommodation

Serena Mountain Village

The only ‘tree hotel’ ever to be built on the slopes of Kenya’s legendary Mount Kenya, Mountain Lodge offers a matchless game viewing opportunity whilst combining a glorious panorama of mountain vistas with the primordial splendours of an ancient rainforest. Floating 2,195 m high on the flanks of Kenya’s highest mountain and secreted deep within her largest forest reserve, the lodge offers not only the champagne-clarity of mountain air, the tranquility of the forest and a colourful cavalcade of wildlife but also the chance of scaling the icy peaks of Africa’s second-highest mountain.

Tarangire Sopa Lodge

Tarangire Sopa Lodge is an all-suite lodge of 75 suites, with scenic views and good game viewing possibilities. The lodge is located on the eastern side of the Tarangire River opposite Tarangire Hill. The Tarangire National Park is 75 miles from Arusha, and is one of Tanzania's most easily accessible conservation areas. The park is 900 square miles area of remarkable beauty and rewarding game drives, and is on the traditional migration route of several species of wildlife. The lodge is 20 miles from the park entrance gate, about an hour's drive through an area rich in wildlife.

Lake Manyara Serena

The most famous game viewing lodge in the world overlooks a water hole and salt lick high in the Aberdare National Park. Treetops is the original tree lodge, legendary for its historical royal connection, for the animals it attracts and for the sheer joy of exploring a tree house visited by rhino, elephant, buffalo, lion, bushbuck, waterbuck and many other species. The 50 twin bedded rooms are small and neat and cosy like cabins on board ship. Dinner is imaginatively served at refectory tables with bench seating, which heightens the sense of adventure and stimulates conversation.

Ngorongoro Serena Lodge

Often described as the ‘Eighth’ Wonder of the World, the Ngorongoro crater is so spectacular that it touches all the senses.
The Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge is built onto the rim of this amazing natural phenomenon, a stunning plant and local creeper covered stone lodge where guests co-exist in perfect harmony with the surrounding natural environment and wildlife. Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, close to some of the earliest dwellings of man in Olduvai Gorge, has taken their cave paintings as inspiration. It is built of stones and boulders and is literally hidden in the vegetation of the crater’s rim, disappearing completely from view from the crater’s floor.

Serengeti Serena Lodge

Set high on a hill with 360 degree views out over the Serengeti savannah, the Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge combines luxury with simplicity and is Africa at its very best.
Inspired by the traditional African village, the lodge is rich in local atmosphere and the bedrooms are housed in individual thatched huts. These huts are furnished with authentic African furniture and handicrafts, with balconies overlooking the awesome expanse of the Serengeti. Communal areas of the lodge are created out of thatch and indigenous wood and give guests a true ‘out of Africa’ experience. Great attention has been paid to both architectural and decorative detailing and the lodge is a photographer’s joy.

Nairobi Serena Hotel

About 330 miles from the Indian Ocean and 95 miles south of the Equator, the city of Nairobi enjoys an almost perfect tropical climate. Day time temperatures are in comfortable 70s and humidity is low. Nights are cool and refreshing. This mile high city has a range of international standard hotels for all budgets.

The Ark

Set in the heart of the Aberdares National Park, The Ark Game Lodge overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick which attracts a host of awesome wildlife such as elephant, rhino, leopard, bushbuck and occasionally an elusive bongo or giant forest hog. The Ark is reached via the Aberdare Country Club and is a forty-minute drive. It is around 7 miles from Mweiga airfield; a one-hour drive from Nyeri airstrip and a two-hour drive from Nanyuki airstrip. The Ark has 60 "cabin-styled" rooms, comprising of 6 singles, 37 twins, 10 doubles and 7 triple-bed cabins. All are comfortably furnished and enjoy a view of the forest waterhole. Located on one of the viewing decks is a lounge and a bar, which remains open all night for tea and coffee.

Mount Kenya Safari Club

Mount Kenya Safari Club has a variety of rooms located in the 100-acres of beautifully lawns, which vary according to their location.  One can visit the types of bedrooms on a sweeping circle of the magnificent grounds: the Club Rooms in the main building, to the Garden Cottages by the tennis courts, around the William Holden Cottages, by the Riverside Cottages along the River Likii, returning back up the hill via the Luxury Villas to the main building. The club has a total of 114 ensuite rooms, each room, with its own club-like charm, has a log fireplace, which is lit every evening.
