Day 1:
Tuesday
Depart USA Let the adventure begin when
you board your overnight flight to London with meals and a movie on
board.
Day 2:
Wednesday
London Arrive in London
in the morning and later this evening connect to your flight to
Kilimanjaro via Nairobi, the safari capital of the world.
Day 3:
Wednesday
Arusha 'Jambo'! Welcome
to Africa. Arrive Nairobi in the morning and connect your flight to Arusha. On arrival meet a Somak Safaris Tour Director who will escort

Day 4/5:
Fri/Sat Tarangire Safari briefing at breakfast
time prepares you for an exciting adventure. Depart for Tarangire National
Park, named after the river that flows through the length of the park and
provides a constant water source for the thousands of animals making their
home here. Lunch at the lodge and enjoy a late afternoon game drive. The
next day, take the morning and afternoon to explore the beauty of the park

Day 6:
Sunday Lake Manyara After breakfast drive to Lake
Manyara National Park. Arrive in time for lunch followed by a late
afternoon game drive. Lake Manyara is home to numerous birds, elephant,
tree-climbing lions, hippos and buffaloes. (BLD) Lake Manyara Serena

Day 7:
Monday Ngorongoro Crater Get an early morning start to the Ngorongoro
Conservation area, host to the birthplace of man. It is also home to the
unique intact caldera, the Ngorongoro Crater. Arrive in time for lunch and
a game drive at the floor of the crater. Return to the lodge for dinner

Day 8:
Tuesday Ngorongoro Crater Enjoy breathtaking views of the crater as
the sun rises. After breakfast, descend 2000 feet below the rim of the
crater for a game viewing. The crater is home to abundant game, including
the "Big Five," plus the black rhino, jackal and Cape buffalo. Return to
the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon visit a Masai Village.

Day 9:
Wednesday Serengeti This morning drive to Olduvai Gorge for a short
visit to the site of the remains of prehistoric "Nutcracker man." Continue
your journey to the world's best-known park, the Serengeti. Named after
the Masai word, "Siringet" for endless plains of short and long grass, the
Serengeti is well known for its large prides of lion, cheetah and packs of
wild dog and for nearly a million or so wildebeest. Lunch at the lodge and
later in the afternoon, enjoy game viewing drive. (BLD) Serengeti

Day 10/11: Thur/Fri Serengeti Enjoy two full days with morning
and late afternoon game drives, with afternoons spent relaxing on the
grounds of the hotel. On any of the mornings you many opt for an optional
early morning balloon safari (extra cost:$400 per person) over the
Serengeti Plains, which includes a bubbly champagne breakfast upon
landing. Or you can take an early morning game drive followed by breakfast
at the lodge. Return to the lodge where you have the remainder of the
morning at leisure before lunch and a late afternoon game drive. (BLD)

Day 12:
Saturday Nairobi After breakfast transfer to the airstrip for your
flight to Arusha, where you will connect your flight to Nairobi. On
arrival you will be met and transfer to the hotel. the rest of the day is

Day 13: Sunday Aberdares Drive north through rich farming areas to the
Aberdares Country Club for lunch. Pack an overnight bag and special
transport will take you to your “tree hotel” deep in the heart of
Aberdares National Park. The floodlit water hole permits all-night game
viewing from the comfort of your lodge. (BLD) The

Day 14:
Monday Mount Kenya This morning
drive to the world-famous Mount Kenya Safari Club for a buffet lunch. The
afternoon is free to enjoy the club’s outstanding facilities — heated
swimming pool, tennis, 9-hole golf course, horse riding, bowling and more.
The 100 acres of grounds contain ponds, mountain streams, waterfalls and

Day 15/16: Tue/Wed Masai Mara Fly to the Masai
Mara National Reserve and gaze in amazement at the rolling hills and vast
plains of the African landscape. Arrive on time for lunch and a late
afternoon game drive. On day 15 you have morning and afternoon game
drives, to further relish the sightings of abundant wildlife in this
seemingly limitless game reserve. You also have the opportunity for an
optional an early morning balloon safari (extra cost:$450 per
person) over the Mara Plains, or take your scheduled game drive. Enjoy

Day 17: Thursday
Nairobi Fly to Nairobi and
have lunch at the world famous Carnivore Restaurant. Transfer to your

Lake Manyara Serena

most famous game viewing lodge
in the world overlooks a water
hole and salt lick high in the
Aberdare National Park. Treetops
is the original tree lodge,

royal connection, for the
animals it attracts and for the

house visited by rhino,
elephant, buffalo, lion,
bushbuck, waterbuck and many
other species. The 50 twin
bedded rooms are small and neat

harmony with the surrounding
natural environment and

the earliest dwellings of man in
Olduvai Gorge, has taken their
cave paintings as inspiration.

About 330 miles from the
Indian Ocean and 95 miles south of the Equator, the city of Nairobi
enjoys an almost perfect tropical climate. Day time temperatures are
in comfortable 70s and humidity is low. Nights are cool and

The Ark |
Set in the
heart of the Aberdares National
Park, The Ark Game Lodge
overlooks a floodlit waterhole
and salt lick which attracts a
host of awesome wildlife such as
elephant, rhino, leopard,
bushbuck and occasionally an
elusive bongo or giant forest
hog. The Ark is reached via the
Aberdare Country Club and is a
forty-minute drive. It is around
7 miles from Mweiga airfield; a
one-hour drive from Nyeri
airstrip and a two-hour drive
from Nanyuki airstrip. The Ark
has 60 "cabin-styled" rooms,
comprising of 6 singles, 37
twins, 10 doubles and 7
triple-bed cabins. All are
comfortably furnished and enjoy
a view of the forest waterhole.

decks is a lounge and a bar,
which remains open all night for
tea and coffee. |

Mount Kenya Safari Club |
Mount Kenya Safari Club has a
variety of rooms located in the
100-acres of beautifully lawns,
which vary according to their
location. One can visit
the types of bedrooms on a
sweeping circle of the
magnificent grounds: the Club
Rooms in the main building, to
the Garden Cottages by the
tennis courts, around the
William Holden Cottages, by the
Riverside Cottages along the
River Likii, returning back up
the hill via the Luxury Villas
to the main building. The club
has a total of 114 ensuite
rooms, each room, with its own
club-like charm, has a log
fireplace, which is lit every
